Meet a Family Terms and Conditions.

Please read and understand this document before registering with Meetafamily. By registering, you accept that you are entering into a contract with us on the terms of this Agreement. Visitors to Meetafamily who do not join, but only register in order to view the Family Special Pages, are also bound by this Agreement each time they sign in to Meetafamily. You should be aware that this Agreement may change from time to time as and when we consider it necessary, such changes to become effective immediately. Members will be advised when there is a new version of the Terms and Conditions.

This Agreement is a legal document, which should be read and understood together with the Meetafamily Privacy Policy. “Meet a Family” (also known as “meetafamily”), is a trading name of Reedmace Limited, a company registered in England No.04462868. "meetafamily", "we" or "us" as used in this document, relate to this site and the services offered by meetafamily. The meetafamily services will be provided globally.

Please ensure that the email address we hold for you is correct, as this is how we will let you know when another family wishes to meet you.

  1. It is completely free of charge to join meetafamily and to have a Family Special Page on our website for all to see. The Family Special Page will show the interests of the family and their children separately, together with other useful information, a family message and perhaps photographs.

  2. The Meetafamily Service is to be used entirely for displaying the interests, descriptive comments and other useful details of a family, so that another family can decide if it would be fun to meet.

  3. All visitors to the website who wish to view the Special Page of a family, will have to register with meetafamily first if they have not already done so. New visitors, who click on any link to a Family Special Page, will be invited to register first.

  4. Any family (Family1), who wish to meet another family (Family2), will have to join meetafamily as full members, with their own Family Special Page and ID number, if they have not already done so (it is completely free to join meetafamily). This will involve putting in their family’s leisure interests, hobbies, etc, so that Family2 can in return, see Family1’s Special Page and decide if it would be fun to meet them.

  5. It is optional to insert any family interests or other details, but obviously the more information the family wishes to include about themselves, the easier it is for others to decide if it would be fun to meet. The family may also add a personal message to their Special Page.

  6. Any member may have their service suspended if they are found to be in breach of our Terms and Conditions.

  7. As children may view our Family Special Pages, it is especially important that members must not show any text or material which is of an adult nature, or submit any picture or message which is likely to cause upset or offence either to children or adults. If this rule is ignored we retain the right to delete the offending Family Page as soon as it is brought to our attention and to advise the member concerned. If it is a more serious matter, we shall ban the person/s responsible from using the meetafamily website and may take further steps for our protection and that of our members.

  8. There is a small meeting request charge required for a family to take advantage of the meetafamily service. This charge is for meetafamily to let Family2 know that Family1 would like to contact or meet them and is only GBP £5.00 or equivalent in other currencies. Family2 would then pay the same charge if they wish to contact or meet Family1 in return.

  9. At this point, in order for them to make contact, we email each family the email address of the other family.

  10. The email addresses will only be issued if both families wish to meet at that time.

  11. If Family2 does not wish to meet Family1 who is trying to contact them at that time, Family1 will receive a credit for their meeting request fee, so they can contact a different family if they wish, or try the same family later.

  12. A refund for the meeting request fee will be given if we are unable to carry out our obligations, which is the Meetafamily Service, unless the problem is out of our control. In the unlikely event that the system fails to work correctly, we will immediately cease to accept member’s meeting request fees until the service is returned to normal working.

  13. We will undertake to keep members informed of any technical issues or improvements which could affect the performance of the meetafamily website, by posting a news bulletin, or sending the information by email.

  14. Should the member have paid their meeting request fee and the other family has not received the “Request to Meet” email due to a fault in the system, a credit will be given, or optionally the fee will be refunded.

  15. When you have joined Meetafamily as full members in order to have your family details on your Family Special Page for all to see, you will receive a confirmation email with a link back to a special page on our website, to verify your email address and password.

  16. Meetafamily cannot be held responsible for the content of the Family Special Pages on our website, or the later behaviour of participants. Users must report any material, which could be considered offensive or inappropriate. Please click our link “Report Misuse and Abuse” (on the “Contact us” page), to report any problems of this kind.

  17. Disclaimer. As we have no control over the content of Family Special Pages, or the accuracy of information provided by members, all users of the meetafamily service undertake not to hold any director, employee or contractor of meetafamily or Reedmace Ltd. liable for any problem arising from the use or abuse of the Meetafamily Service.

  19. Meetafamily undertakes to provide the best service possible to our members, within the limitations of our ability to provide such service at any given time.

  20. Our ambition is to make the Meetafamily Service available to families in many countries, so long as they have suitable equipment to receive it.

  21. Our Privacy Policy and these Terms and Conditions form one agreement. When you acknowledge on the registration form you have read and understood this agreement, it means that you accept all of it.
